English Championship Predictions - 9 September 2026, Matchday 6

English Championship Predictions - 9 September 2026, Matchday 6
Derby vs West Brom
Norwich vs Birmingham
Charlton vs QPR

Derby vs West Brom

Derby have three defeats in their five Championship matches, winning just once and failing to score twice. They’ve scored just five goals in five matches but have let 10 in. West Brom have two wins and two defeats in their five matches, scoring and conceding eight goals, so neither defence is super tight but their scoring is not super hot.

Derby have lost four of their last five home matches without a win. West Brom won three in a row but have conceded three goals in both of their last two matches, losing both matches. Derby look ripe for defeat, but my main call is for under three goals.

Norwich vs Birmingham

Norwich have three wins from their last four matches, scoring nine goals. Birmingham have been strong on defence, with just one defeat in five, but they’ve also won just one of those matches.

Birmingham’s away form is strong, winning four of five while Norwich at home have played L-D-W-L-W, so this is shaping up as a pretty even clash. There are good odds for a draw but a score draw is even tastier, and with Birmingham scoring in each of their last five matches I’m going for the score draw.

Charlton vs QPR

Charlton have taken two heavy defeats in their last four matches, losing 5-1 to Spurs in the League Cup and 4-0 to Stoke in the Championship. They’ve just picked up one win in their last four, scoring just twice in those four matches.

QPR were on a great roll, playing W-D-W-W before losing 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough. They’ve failed to score twice in their last four matches but their consistency gives me confidence to back them for the win.

Verdict

England Championship

Derby and West Brom to be low on goals, Norwich and Birmingham to draw, while Charlton to take a loss against QPR.
