Crystal Palace vs Ipswich

Ipswich started the season with a strong 2-1 home win over Sunderland then beat Leicester 3-1 at home in the League Cup, but they took a hammering away to Man United (5-2) then lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool, so their squad strength has been shown up against quality opposition.

Palace blow hot and cold, but when they’re hot they’re hot. They lost their openers away to Everton (2-0) and at home to an in-form Man City (4-1), but they have hit their gears by beating Fulham 3-2 away and smashing Middlesbrough 3-0 at home. I’m backing them to win, but the safest best in my book is for Palace to score at least twice.

Liverpool vs Fulham

Liverpool are on a great run (D-W-D-D-W-W) with three clean sheets and 10 goals in six matches. They have shipped six goals in four matches so their defence is far from watertight.

Fulham have lost all three of their Premier League matches this season but have twice scored two goals (vs Chelsea and Fulham), so while they should be beaten I see them hitting the back of the net. Fulham have only been goalless in one of their last nine matches.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham

After a shocking pre-season Villa kicked off the season with two defeats and a draw, failing to find the net in any of those matches. They look to have turned the corner after a great 3-2 away win to Club Brugge in the Champions League, so I’m backing them to hit three points against Forest.

Forest have no wins in their first four competitive matches of the season, failing to score in three of those matches. They were superb to draw 2-2 against Liverpool at Anfield, but I’m backing a Villa backlash as Forest flounder.

Tottenham vs Everton

Spurs have two defeats in their first four matches of the season and have yet to score in three Premier League matches this season. They avoided a hat-trick of defeats in the League by drawing 0-0 away to Forest, but they look ripe for the picking.

Everton are undefeated in six matches, winning their first two matches of the season by a 6-0 aggregate score followed by an away draw with Bournemouth and a 2-2 home draw against an United. They’re playing well and holding their line so I’m backing them to be too strong for a struggling Spurs. There’s also a nice payout for a Toffees win, so there’s that.
