Man City proved that their derby day defeat was just a minor blip in an incredible winning run. 

Their 2-0 loss to Man United last weekend was followed up by a seven-goal thriller in midweek as City put five past Southampton in a 5-2 victory.

Goals came from Ilkay Gündogan and braces from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez.

City now haven’t kept a clean sheet in four successive games and will be hoping to sure up things at the back ahead of their pursuit for trophies toward the end of this season.

Also important to remember that they have still only lost one of their last 30 games and the United game appears to be just a glitch.

City have no injury concerns but Pep Guardiola is a keen tinkerer of his team.

Ilkay Gündogan became the fourth player in the big European leagues to reach double figures in 2021, alongside Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and André Silva, and will be hoping to keep his goalscoring run going.
