Golden Arrows, known for their defensive solidity with 10 clean sheets in their last 13 matches, are predicted to secure a narrow home win over Milford with a clean sheet. Milford have managed 12 points from eight matches in the top flight, suffering only two defeats, but face difficulties on the road. The predicted lineup sees Arrows potentially welcoming back captain Ayanda Jiyane. The main conclusion is that Arrows are favoured for a win and a clean sheet, supported by key stats and recent performances.

Golden Arrows vs Milford Predictions

Arrows are strong defensively. I see them getting a narrow win at home with a clean sheet in this one.

Key Stats – Arrows Backed for Narrow Win

  • Golden Arrows have kept 10 clean sheets in their last 13 matches.
  • Milford have lost 2 of their last 4 away matches.
  • Milford have seen BTTS No in 10 of their last 14 matches.

Head to Head – Arrows Won Only Previous Meeting

Golden Arrows won the only previous meeting between these clubs.

They beat Milford 2-1 at home in the Nedbank Cup in March 2016.

Golden Arrows Form – Just Two Losses in 15 Matches

Arrows are winless in four matches (LLDD), but their last 15 fixtures have only seen two defeats.

A 1-0 win at Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg was followed by a 1-0 home win over Stellenbosch in the league.  They lost 3-2 at home to Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final second leg.

A 2-1 home PSL loss followed to Sundowns. They’ve drawn their last two matches, 1-1 away at Siwelele and 0-0 at home to Kaizer Chiefs as they limited their opponents to just one shot on target.

Milford Sit Fifth – 12 Points in Eight Rounds of Action

Milford have taken 12 points from eight matches since their promotion to the top flight. Their only defeats have come against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

After successive wins, a 0-0 draw at Polokwane City followed with a 16-7 shot count in Milford’s favour. They lost 2-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns before drawing 0-0 away at Chippa United.

A resounding 5-1 home win followed vs ten-man Richards Bay as they created seven big chances. Their last match saw 2.01 xG produced in a strong home performance where they drew 1-1 with Durban City.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Golden Arrows (4-3-3): Mbanjwa; Shezi, Jiyane, Mantshiyane, Maluleke; Dlamini, Zwane, Maxwele; Gasa, Dion, Sithole.

Arrows will hope to have captain and centre back Ayanda Jiyane back from injury. Edward Maova in an injury question mark in goal.

Ntandoyenkosi Mabaso is available after injury but could find himself benched in defence. Themba Mantshiyane is set to keep his place.

Milford (4-1-4-1): Hleza; Bhengu, Mthabela, Cele, Mdluli; Mthethwa; Zikakayo, Nomandela, Chili, Gxakoshe; Ndlabi.

Milford’s coach Xanti Pupuma could again bench Scele Masilela in attack.

It could be a mostly unchanged XI from some strong recent outings.

Verdict

I'm backing Arrows to keep a clean sheet in a home win.
