Head-to-Head

St Lucia Kings have won two and lost two of their last five matches in the Caribbean Premier League matches against the Barbados Tridents. One match was abandoned.

Barbados Tridents Form

Barbados Tridents suffered a fourth straight defeat last time out, going down by 35 runs to Trinbago Knight Riders. Chasing 148, Barbados were dismissed for only 112 after failing to build meaningful partnerships.

Zachary Carter and Sherfane Rutherford top-scored with 21 apiece, but the rest of the batting order offered little resistance. Gudakesh Motie was the standout bowler with 3/29, while Mujeeb Ur Rahman claimed two wickets.

Quinton de Kock remains Barbados’ leading batter this season with 213 runs from six matches at an average of 35.50, while Daniel Sams has taken eight wickets.

St Lucia Kings Form

Saint Lucia Kings were handed a crushing 137-run defeat by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their previous outing. After conceding 245, the Kings collapsed to 98 in reply.

Tim Seifert provided the only real resistance with a half-century, but he received little support as poor shot selection contributed to a rapid collapse. The bowling attack also struggled badly, with Matthew Forde returning the best figures of 2/48. Maheesh Theekshana and Roston Chase took one wicket each.

Kamil Pooran has scored 193 runs in six matches, while Forde leads the tournament bowling charts with 15 wickets from eight games.

Team news

Sunny weather is forecast in Bridgetown, with temperatures between 27°C and 32°C. Kensington Oval generally offers good bounce and carry for seamers early before becoming easier for batting. Spinners can also find assistance later, with around 162 considered a typical first-innings score.

Barbados Tridents (possible XI): Brandon King, Zachary Carter, Quinton de Kock, Rivaldo Clark, Chris Green (c), Sherfane Rutherford, Shadrack Descarte, Daniel Sams, Gudakesh Motie, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jakeem Pollard.

St Lucia Kings (possible XI): Tim Seifert, Kamil Pooran, John Campbell, Charith Asalanka, Obus Pienaar, Matthew Forde, Roston Chase (c), Amari Goodridge, Joshua Bishop, Maheesh Theekshana, Keon Gaston.

Verdict

Barbados Tridents v St Lucia Kings

The St Lucia Kings are tipped to hand the Tridents a fifth straight defeat. Quinton de Kock and Tim Seifert are both in good form with the bat, while Matthew Forde and Mujeeb Ur Rahman offer good value to back to pick up wickets.
