Zimbabwe vs Oman Predictions

Zimbabwe have a strong cricketing pedigree and play more of their cricket against higher-ranked teams, while Oman seldom play against top 10 sides. Oman have some talented players who are enjoying good form, and they beat Zimbabwe in their World Cup warm-up match, but I'm backing Zimbabwe for their greater experience.

Zimbabwe have lost four of their last five T20Is, including the last two in a row against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Brian Bennett is Zimbabwe’s most reliable batter, with 1,596 T20I runs at a strike-rate of 145.45. Tashinga Musekiwa had scored three 20s before his explosive 54* in the warm-up defeat to Oman.

Sikandar Raza has scored 2,883 runs in T20Is (S/R 135.28) and taken 102 wickets (econ 6.76). His bowling was superb in the SA20, taking 4/13, 2/26, 2/13 and 2/29 in his 10 matches, ending with 15 wickets to finish 3rd on the SA20 wickets list for the season.

Oman Form

Oman have won four of their last five T20Is, including two wins over fellow World Cup competitors the UAE.

Jatinder Singh has scored 19-plus in seven of his last eight innings. Aamir Kaleem hit three sixes in his match-winning 47-ball 80 to chase down Sri Lanka A’s target of 146. Vinayak Shukla has been in the runs, scoring 51*, 48, 30*, 32 and 39* in his last seven knocks. Hammad Mirza has shown consistency in scoring 34, 28, 32 and 35 in his last five knocks.

Nadeem Khan has been Oman’s go-to bowler in recent months, taking 4/20, 2/19, 1/16 and 2/26 in his last four matches. Sufyan Mehmood has taken 3/26 and 3/22 in his last three games.
