India vs West Indies Predictions

India are in superb form and with the West Indies suffering two big blows to their pace attack, India are likely to benefit from an Ahmedabad greentop. The West Indies batting is brittle, so I can’t see them surviving three days against a fired-up Indian pace attack.

India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 101, 87, 58 & 118 in the 5-Test series against England.

India have won four and drawn one of their last five Tests against the West Indies. The one draw was a rain-affected Test in which India had the upper hand.

After losing to England in the 3rd Test and a big-runs stalemate in the 4th Test, India beat England by six runs in the 5th Test to share the five-match Test series 2-2.

India set England a challenging target of 374 in the fourth innings, after Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a commanding 118 off 164 balls as India posted 396 in their second innings.

England were on track for a comfortable win at 332/5 before Prasidh Krishna (4/126) and Mohammed Siraj (5/104) hit their stride to roll the last six England wickets for just 35 runs.

India Team News

India are in great form and have been boosted by the fitness of paceman Jasprit Bumrah. They will be looking for an innings victory, possibly within three days.

West Indies Form

West Indies have lost four of their last five Tests, including the last three in a row in their 3-0 series defeat against Australia.

Jayden Seales (3/59), Shamar Joseph (4/33) and Justin Greaves (3/56) rolled Australia for 225, but in response the West Indies were skittled for 143. John Campbell top-scored with 36.

Shamar Joseph (4/34) and Alzarri Joseph (5/27) mowed the Aussies down for 121 off 37 overs to leave them needing 204 for the win. Incredible bowling by Australia saw the West Indies demolished for just 27, with seven ducks and only Justin Greaves (11) scoring more than four runs.

The exciting West Indies paceman Shamar Joseph will miss the series through injury, with the uncapped Johann Layne taking his place. Alzarri Joseph will also miss out through injury and will be replaced by Jediah Blade.
