Bangladesh is the strong favourite in Race 6.
Summer Winter aims for victory with jockey K De Melo in Race 8.
Innerbloom looks to capitalise on good form in Race 9.

Race 6 – Bangladesh (8)

Jockey: Craig Zackey

Trainer: Nathan Kotzen

The 4-yr-old bay gelding Bangladesh is my pick for Race 6 having had a 28-day rest. He came first in only his second race back in April, was given a 66-day break and came back to claim second in a field of 12 in his third race.

The Gilding Fish (6.00) won two races back and finished fourth in his last race, but I don’t back his 8-yr-old legs over the friskier Bangladesh. Blue Steel (6.00) has great credentials after runs of 2-2-1-5-1 but I like the power of Bangladesh in the closing 200 metres.

Race 7 – Position Of Power (2)

Jockey: K De Melo

Trainer: Alyson Wright

Position Of Power has finished in the top three in seven of his nine races, with three wins and three second placings. He’s had two poor runs but his results list is super impressive: 1-2-2-1-7-3-1-9-1-2.

Chocolate Soldier is the second best-ranked horse in the field at 5.50 but he ran 11 races outside of the top three before snatching third place in his last race. Rainbow Reward is pegged at 9.00 despite coming into the race on the back of 1-3-1 finishes so he could be worth a flutter.

Race 8 – Summer Winter (2)

Jockey: K De Melo

Trainer: Adam Azzie

Quarter Master comes into the race on the back of a win and Chara Sands has been on a great streak of form (2-2-8-1-1), but Summer Winter has a good look about her, despite two seventh-place finishes in her last five runs. She also claimed two second places and a win, with her last two runs being a second place and a win, both at Greyville.

The 5-yr-old bay filly is definitely worth backing, especially running in partnership with jockey K De Melo who has three wins, a second place and a third place in his last eight races.

Race 9 – Innerbloom (7)

Jockey: Calvin Habib

Trainer: Lucinda Woodruff

The 4-yr-old bay filly claimed her second win in seven races in her last race, but between the two victories she placed outside of the top three in those other five runs.

Autumn Rush (10.00) claimed her first win in 10 starts in her last race but doesn’t look too consistent. Saudi Sweep has two wins in six races but hasn’t been too consistent, so Innerbloom has my backing based on her powerful win in her last race which she took by a comfortable length.
