Griquas are poised to overcome the Sharks in their upcoming Currie Cup match, despite a recent loss to the Pumas. Historically strong at home, Griquas are expected to make lineup changes to improve their performance. The Sharks, coming off a narrow home defeat to the Lions, will also likely tweak their team to gain their first win of the season. Key takeaways include Griquas' reliance on home advantage and Sharks' potential for lineup adjustments.

Head to Head
Griquas beat the Sharks 48-40 at home last season.
Griquas Form
Griquas made a disappointing start to their Currie Cup campaign last Friday, losing at home to the Pumas.
Over the last few years, Griquas have been very competitive in this tournament and will look to be once again this season. Often it is their home form that they rely on, making Kimberley a tough place to win for the opposition.
Unfortunately, on Friday, the Pumas showed their class to win the game 44-24. It was tight for much of the game, but Griquas didn’t have the quality to stay in the fight for 80 minutes.
Griquas Injuries & Team News
Expect a few changes to the Griquas side who were very disappointing last weekend.
Sharks Form
The Sharks, one of the more successful sides in Currie Cup history, will be looking for their first title in a few years in 2024.
However, the Durban-based outfit got off to a losing start last weekend on home soil, going down 26-25 to the Lions at Kings Park.
It was a superb game full of drama and the Sharks could have snatched it with the final kick, but it went wide. They face a tough challenge this Friday in Kimberley to get their season on track.
Sharks Injuries & Team News
The Sharks will be pleased with their overall performance last weekend, but I do expect them to make some changes for this encounter.
Verdict
I am backing Griquas to win at home.
