AmaZulu vs Cape Town City Predictions
AmaZulu had a superb campaign last time out thanks to a very solid backline. City should improve under Eric Tinkler but still haven’t solved their lack of a ruthless striker. I am tipping a low scoring match with AmaZulu to progress to the semis.

Head to Head
These sides have met on nine previous occasions with AmaZulu holding a 5-2 advantage with two draws.
They last met in April as AmaZulu won 5-1 in Cape Town after a superb performance.
AmaZulu Form
Usuthu had an amazing season last time out under Benni McCarthy as they finished second and qualified for the CAF Champions League. They won 12 out of 14 matches between late January and early May.
AmaZulu had a disappointing end to the season as they lost 1-0 to Baroka and 1-0 to Orlando Pirates. A 1-0 win against Swallows and 0-0 draw at Maritzburg completed the campaign.
AmaZulu have played their preseason friendlies behind closed doors and their results have not been made public.
AmaZulu Team News
Usuthu have had a relatively quiet transfer window. Left back Sibusiso Mabiliso has departed the club so new addition Philani Zulu could play in that role.
Veteran midfielder Keagan Buchanan has arrived and could anchor midfield whilst 34 year old Lehlohonolo Majoro could continue up front.
Cape Town City Form
City finished seventh in the PSL last season. They had an inconsistent campaign that saw Jan Olde Riekerink sacked in May.
After a 5-1 thrashing against AmaZulu, City lost 1-0 at TS Galaxy to seal Riekerink’s fate. Goalless stalemates followed at Bloemfontein Celtic and against Maritzburg United.
After Eric Tinkler was appointed as coach, City beat Black Leopards 3-1 in his first match. City were thrashed 3-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day in a very poor performance.
Cape Town City Team News
City have released striker Justin Shonga so Tashreeq Morris could lead the line.
Coach Eric Tinkler has signed goalkeeper Darren Keet to replace Peter Leeuwenburgh but he is out injured. Edmilson Dove is fit again at left back after long-term injury.
Verdict
The odds are not available for this fixture. Once it is we will be looking at the BTTS No market and AmaZulu win to nil.
