Kaizer Chiefs vs Black Leopards Betting Options & Advice
Kaizer Chiefs have started their campaign on the right foot following a difficult pre-season, beating Highlands Park 3-2 in their opening fixture. Amakhosi have a fantastic opportunity to make it two wins from two against a Black Leopards side which usually struggles on the road. Kaizer Chiefs are backed to win at 1.75.
Kaizer Chiefs Talking Points & Form
Speculation continues to rage over the future of Khama Billiat, who has been linked with a return to Mamelodi Sundowns. However, Lebogang Manyama stepped up last weekend with a brace, reminding us why he was the Absa Premiership player of the season as recently as 2016-17.
New signing Samir Nurkovic has already made an impression at Naturena and started together with Lazarous Kambole in the 3-2 win over the Lions of the North. The pair will both be looking to get off the mark in Kaizer Chiefs colours.
Black Leopards Talking Points & Form
Lidoda Duvha lost their opening fixture of the new season 1-0 at home to Polokwane City. This is concerning for Black Leopards given that they are usually better in Thohoyandou than on the road. Experienced players such as Thabo Matlaba and Thuso Phala need to rally up the troops in the dressing room.
Kaizer Chiefs vs Black Leopards Last Encounters
Last season, Amakhosi beat Black Leopards 1-0 at home and drew 1-1 away. The victory in November came thanks to a goal from Willard Katsande and the April draw saw Lifa Hlongwane cancel out Andriamirado Andrianarimanana's opener.
It was Black Leopards' first season back in the Absa Premiership and they ultimately only survived by the skin of their teeth.
Verdict
Kaizer Chiefs are a better side on paper and seem to be regaining their best form. There is value in an Amakhosi win.
