Head-to-Head

Ireland have a 2-1 advantage against Armenia in three previous meetings.

Ireland Form

Ireland gave up a 1-0 lead and lost 2-1 in Scotland on Saturday. John Egan scored after 18 minutes before Ireland conceded twice in the second period.

The defeat followed a mini-unbeaten run in Group B1. Ireland drew 1-1 with Ukraine and thrashed Scotland 3-0 at home.

Four points from five matches leaves Stephen Kenny’s side third in Group B1. A draw or win will see the Boys in Green avoid relegation to the Nations League C Group.

Ireland Squad

Armenia Form

Armenia lost their fourth consecutive match after a 5-0 defeat against Ukraine.  Joaquín Caparrós’ side conceded early on before letting in four goals after half time.

Armenia previously lost against Scotland (2-0 and 4-1) and Ukraine (3-0). Their only Nations League win came in a 1-0 home victory over Ireland in June.

The Mountaineers must win against Ireland to avoid relegation in the Nations League.

Ireland are likely to have too much quality for an Armenia side that struggles away. There is value on a home handicap and win to nil.
