Comoros will be looking to challenge for the COSAFA Cup title this season considering the strength for their squad.

Their form coming into the tournament was not good, losing three of their previous four matches against Malawi twice and Mali in the World Cup qualifiers. They did manage to beat Chad 1-0 at home in late March.

The COSAFA Cup kicked off in good fashion though as Comoros beat Zambia 1-0 in their opener. The win came courtesy of a 31st minute goal by Ibrahim Madi.

This will be Botswana’s first game of the tournament as their pool only has three teams. They are in decent form with a good run of results.

During the World Cup qualifiers in March, Botswana lost 3-1 away to Algeria, not a result that would concern them given the strength of the opponents. They bounced back to beat Somalia 2-0 at home.

Prior to that, in late 2024, Botswana drew against Egypt and Mauritania.
