Durban City had a good season last time out but began this campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United. In a very even contest, a 27th minute goal by the home side secured all three points as the Durban-based outfit couldn't fine an equaliser.

In midweek, Durban City were held to a 0-0 draw by Golden Arrows on home soil. It was a tactical battle throughout with very few chances created by either side.

Richards Bay Form

Richards Bay were poor for large parts of their opening fixture at home to Polokwane City. They went into the break 1-0 down before Polokwane added a second early in the second half.

Richards Bay pulled one back in the 69th minute but failed to create many more meaningful chances thereafter. In their second game, The Bay held Chippa United to a 1-1 draw away from home.
