Sekhukhune United vs Polokwane City Predictions - Babina Noko to Share Spoils in PSL

Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City face each other in a PSL match with both teams battling inconsistent form. Sekhukhune have only three wins in their last 15 league matches, while Polokwane are draw specialists, drawing four of their last five league games. Recent stats suggest a low-scoring fixture, and a 1-1 draw is the predicted outcome. Both sides have squad concerns and are likely to take a cautious approach. The key recommendation is a draw as the best bet, with shared points expected.

  • Both clubs are struggling for consistent wins and have multiple recent draws.
  • Key stats and recent form point strongly to a 1-1 draw.
  • Polokwane have drawn 4 of their last 5 and are tipped for a point here.

Sekhukhune United vs Polokwane City Predictions

Polokwane are draw specialists, whilst Sekhukhune are struggling to win games consistently. I see this finishing in a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.

Key Stats – Draw Looks Like the Best Bet

  • Sekhukhune United have seen Under 2.5 goals in 17 of their last 18 home matches.
  • Sekhukhune United have drawn 2 of their last 4 PSL matches.
  • Polokwane City have drawn 4 of their last 5 PSL matches.
  • Polokwane have seen BTTS Yes in their last 3 matches.

Head to Head – Sekhukhune With Narrow Lead

Sekhukhune hold a 3-1 lead over Polokwane City with four draws in eight meetings.

The clubs played out a 0-0 draw when they last met in March 2026.

Three Wins in Last 15 PSL Matches – Sekhukhune Slowly Regaining Form

Sekhukhune’s last 13 fixtures last season in all competitions only saw two wins. They have two wins and a loss this season far.

A 1-1 draw at Richards Bay was followed by a 2-2 draw at home vs Siwelele on the final day. They beat Durban City 1-0 to start this season despite having just 38% ball possession.

Last Sunday, they won 4-3 at AmaZulu in the MTN8. In midweek, Babina Noko lost 2-0 at Kaizer Chiefs with just 0.40 xG produced.

Polokwane Form – One Win in Eight with Five Blanks Fired

Polokwane scored just 21 goals last season on the way to a top eight finish. Their last eight matches have yielded just one victory.

After successive 0-0 draws, they drew 1-1 at home vs Marumo Gallants to finish last season. This term started with a 2-1 win at Richards Bay with 1.84 xG produced.

Last Saturday, they had just 20% possession and allowed 30in a 3-2 extra-time defeat at Mamelodi Sundowns. In midweek, they came from 2-1 down to draw 3-3 at home to Stellenbosch in a thriller.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Sekhukhune United (4-2-3-1): Buthelezi; Mashiloane, Cardoso, Matsimbi, Kazeem; Mkhize, Khupe; Ramabu, Mokhoane, Rammala; Ndlovu.

Left back Vuyo Letlapa is out injured. Powerful forward Chibuike Ohizu is awaiting his work permit after rejoining the club.

Mokibelo Ramabu is pushing for a first start down the right wing. Mcedi Vandala is set to be left out after lasting just 20 minutes as a substitute in midweek before being hauled off.

Polokwane City (4-2-3-1): Mathebula; Mathosi, Nkaki, Ramaja, Modise; Kambala, Maphangule; Daniels, Mnguni, Philander; Molokwane.

Polokwane could again be without key right back Thabang Matuludi. The coach has denied an imminent transfer departure but is leaving his captain out of the squad.

Goalkeeper Lindokuhle Mathebula shook off an injury to start the last match. Raymond Daniels is pushing for a start after scoring from the bench in midweek.
