Mamelodi Sundowns vs Kaizer Chiefs Predictions - Brazilians to beat Amakhosi in PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns head into their crucial match against Kaizer Chiefs as strong favorites, given their impressive run of 12 wins from 14 league games and six clean sheets in the last seven matches. Chiefs are struggling, failing to win in their last three, and missing key players due to injury. Historically, Sundowns also hold the advantage with more wins in head-to-head encounters. The recommendation is clear: back Sundowns for a win and a clean sheet.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Kaizer Chiefs Predictions

This is a must win match for Sundowns. I’m backing another win for Sundowns against Chiefs without conceding a goal.

Key Stats – Sundowns Backed for Win

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 12 of their last 14 PSL matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 7 matches.
  • Kaizer Chiefs have lost 5 of their last 7 matches vs Mamelodi Sundowns.
  • Kaizer Chiefs have failed to score in their last 3 PSL matches vs Mamelodi Sundowns.

Head to Head – Brazilians Hold Advantage

Sundowns hold a 24-18 lead over Chiefs across their last 54 clashes with 12 draws.

The clubs played out a 0-0 draw when they met in the reverse fixture in August 2025.

Sundowns Form – 12 Wins in 14 League Matches

Sundowns are three wins from retaining the PSL title. Their last 14 league matches have yielded 12 wins and two draws.

Sundowns won 1-0 away and 1-0 on home turf vs Esperance in the CAF Champions League semi-finals. A 1-1 home draw vs Stellenbosch and a 0-0 draw at Richards Bay followed.

They have faced Polokwane City twice this week. A 1-0 away win was followed by a 3-0 home victory on Sunday as they had 71% possession and 16 shots.

Winless in Three Matches – Chiefs Having Dip in Form

Chiefs have won five straight PSL matches before a three-match winless run.

A 2-0 home win over TS Galaxy and a 4-1 win at Magesi made it five straight victories. A 0-0 stalemate vs Polokwane City was followed by a strong display to draw 1-1 vs Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.

Amakhosi lost 2-0 at Siwelele in their last match. That dominated 19-11 on the shot count and put up 2.67 Expected Goals.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Williams; Mudau, Kekana, Cupido, Modiba; Mokoena, Adams; Morena, Allende, Matthews; Rayners.

Coach Miguel Cardoso has key striker Brayan Leon back from injury. Nuno Santos is fit again and boosts the options in midfield.

Arthur Sales is injured in the number ten role. Grant Kekana could be recalled at centre back for this one.

Kaizer Chiefs (4-2-3-1): Petersen; Monyane, Miguel, McCarthy, Cross; Maboe, Mthethwa; Lilepo, Shabalala, Duba; Da Silva.

Chiefs are without defender Rushwin Dortley and striker Etiosa Ighodaro for this match. Siphesihle Ndlovu is a doubt in midfield.

Bradley Cross is set for a recall at left back. Inacio Miguel may return to central defence after Chiefs’ leaky showing against Siwelele.

Verdict

I'm backing Sundowns to win with a clean sheet here.
