Editor
Last updated: 1 hour ago

Guyana Amazon Warriors enter their next match as strong favourites, powered by the stellar form of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who's delivered consistently in his last five outings. Gudakesh Motie has impressed, taking four of the Qalandars’ top seven wickets recently. For the Scorchers, Andre Fletcher provides reliability at the top of the order, while Akeal Hosein remains a threat with the ball despite a recent loss. Expect the Warriors to capitalize on their momentum, with Gurbaz and Motie leading the charge.

Head-to-Head

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have never played against the Perth Scorchers XI.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Form

Guyana Amazon Warriors are setting the pace in the Global Super League 2026 and currently sit top of the table with three wins from three matches.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been their leading run-scorer with 127 runs, while Gudakesh Motie has led the way with the ball, claiming six wickets. The Warriors head into this fixture full of confidence after a commanding 53-run win over Lahore Qalandars in their previous match.

Batting first, Guyana posted 164/9 from their 20 overs. Quentin Sampson was dismissed early for just one run, but Gurbaz and Mohammad Haris rebuilt the innings with an important 72-run partnership for the second wicket.

Gurbaz was the main aggressor, making 65 off only 35 balls, while Haris added 34 from 28 deliveries. At one stage Guyana looked well placed to push beyond 180, but the innings slowed after both set batters were dismissed. The lower order could not fully capitalise, and the Warriors had to settle for 164.

That total still proved more than enough. Lahore Qalandars struggled from the beginning of their chase and collapsed to 65/5 inside nine overs.

Dwaine Pretorius and Gudakesh Motie were outstanding with the ball. Pretorius picked up two wickets, while Motie produced a match-shaping spell with four wickets as Guyana took complete control. Lahore were eventually bowled out for 111, handing the Warriors a convincing 53-run victory and keeping their unbeaten start to the tournament intact.

Perth Scorchers XI Form

Perth Scorchers are currently rooted to the bottom of the Global Super League 2026 points table, having lost all three of their matches so far.

Andre Fletcher has been their leading run-scorer in the tournament with 76 runs, while Brody Couch has been their standout bowler, taking six wickets. The Scorchers come into this match after a narrow one-wicket defeat to Desert Vipers in their previous outing.

Batting first, Perth could only manage 112/6 from their 20 overs. D’Arcy Short, Joel Curtis and Usman Khan all fell cheaply, leaving the innings under early pressure. Andre Fletcher and Akeal Hosein then offered some resistance, scoring 40 and 32 respectively, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to build any momentum. As a result, the Scorchers were restricted to a below-par total, leaving their bowlers with very little margin for error.

Desert Vipers also made a poor start to the chase and slipped to 46/4 inside nine overs. However, Rilee Rossouw held the innings together with a crucial 50 off just 31 balls, striking four fours and three sixes.

Perth continued to take wickets and kept the contest alive until the final over, but Vitel Lawes kept his nerve at number 11. His important late boundary helped the Vipers edge home with just one wicket remaining, leaving the Scorchers still searching for their first win.

Team news

The Warriors are through to the playoffs but are unlikely to relax and give squad players game time as they will want the win that will keep them top of the table and put them straight through to the final.

Verdict

Guyana Amazon are the overwhelming favourites to take the win at odds of 1.62. The Warriors are on fire, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring in every knock in his last five matches, while Gudakesh Motie is picking up wickets regularly and knocked over four of the Qalandars’ top seven batters in their last match.

Andre Fletcher looks reliable at the top of the order for the Scorchers while Akeal Hosein was red hot with the ball in the loss to the Vipers.
