Durban City host Mauritian side Port Louis on Sunday in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary-round tie.

Durban City have struggled for results in the Betway Premiership but won both legs of their opening CAF tie against Rukinzo of Burundi.

Port Louis also impressed in the previous round, eliminating Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy. However, Durban City have home advantage and should have enough to take a lead into the return leg. Durban City to win is the selection.

The South African side progressed 3–1 on aggregate but have struggled to maintain that form in domestic competition.

They lost 2–0 away to Orlando Pirates before drawing 1–1 against Milford. Their most recent match ended in a 2–1 home defeat to AmaZulu on Tuesday.

Durban City have now gone three matches without a victory and have collected seven points from their opening eight league fixtures.

Eric Tinkler recently replaced Khalil Ben Youssef as head coach and will be looking for his first victory in charge after the defeat to AmaZulu.

Port Louis Form

Port Louis booked their place in the second preliminary round with a surprise victory over Jwaneng Galaxy.

The Mauritian side drew 1–1 at home in the first leg before travelling to Botswana and securing a 1–0 victory in the return fixture.

That result gave Port Louis a 2–1 aggregate victory and extended their unbeaten start to this season's CAF Confederation Cup.

Their domestic league campaign ended in April, with Port Louis drawing 1–1 away to Cercle de Joachim in their final fixture.

They had previously beaten PAS Mates 3–0 but lost consecutive away matches against Pamplemousses and Rivière du Rempart.

Port Louis will now face another difficult away assignment as they attempt to reach the group stage.
