Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace
Palace aren’t totally safe from relegation but the odds are well in their favour, while Bournemouth are fighting for a place in Europe and one extra win would be their ticket. Palace picked up a 3-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk midweek on the back of two defeats and a draw, but Bournemouth have gone 13 matches without defeat and will be tough to break down.
At home Bournemouth have gone seven matches without defeat, which was when they went down 3-2 to Arsenal. They followed it with back-to-back 3-2 wins over Spurs and then Liverpool before hitting five draws on the bounce. Palace have lost three of their last six matches on the road so they’re a bit of a mixed bag.
Considering their defensive strength at home and Palace’s inconsistency, it looks like a draw is the best result to back.
Manchester United vs Liverpool
Liverpool are chewing away at United’s four-point lead as they battle for 3rd place in the table, as well as securing their place in the Champions League. Both sides have three wins, a draw and a loss in their last five League matches, so there’s not a lot to choose between them.
United went down 2-1 at home to Leeds three matches ago, while Liverpool have won their last three matches in the League on the bounce. Their only defeats in their last five matches were back-to-back 2-0 defeats to PSG in the Champions League, so Liverpool look to have the better form overall.
However, at home United have won six of their last seven matches, while Liverpool lost four in a row on the road, scoring just one goal in those four matches. They picked themselves up to win their last away match 2-1 to Everton. These two sides are so passionate when they clash it’s hard to pick a winner, but the formbook pours the spotlight on United to take the points.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham
Spurs are in the drop zone fighting for their survival, while Villa are almost secure in the Champions League places. Spurs have won just two of their last 10 matches, losing six times, with one of their wins coming against bottom-of-the-table Wolves.
Villa enjoyed a four-match unbeaten streak that included three wins before losing their last two games without scoring. Their home form has been strong, winning four of their last five matches and keeping two clean sheets. Spurs have been travelling badly, losing four and drawing one of their last six, so I’m backing a Villa win to nil.
Verdict
Wins for Manchester United and Aston Villa, while Bournemouth and Crystal Palace to play out a draw.
