With just two matches left in the La Liga season the title has gone to Barcelona and all five Champions League places have been secured. The three other European spots are being fought for between seven teams.

The relegation race is also hot, and while Oviedo will definitely be relegated, there are five sides on 39 and 40 points and a batch of teams on 42 and 43 points who are also theoretically caught up in the race to avoid the drop.

Levante vs Mallorca

This is a huge clash in the relegation battle, with both sides in the drop zone on 39 points. A win for either side could see them through to safety, depending on other results.

Mallorca have just one victory in their last five matches, while Levante have three wins in five. Levante won both of their last two matches 3-2, while Mallorca have scored just two goals in picking up a draw and a loss in their last two.

Levante have been a powerhouse at home, being unbeaten in six matches, winning five and with 13 goals to their credit along with three clean sheets.

On the road Mallorca have just one win in 10, losing seven of those matches and failing to score in three matches. This looks a definite home win at odds of 2.15, but I’m backing a win to nil.

Elche vs Getafe

Elche are above the drop zone on goal difference, but with Mallorca playing Levante one or both of them will be above Elche if they don’t get at least a point from Getafe.

Their opponents will be chasing a win to upgrade their Conference League spot to a place in the Europa League. Elche have just one point from their last three matches while Getafe have four. Elche have been strong at home in recent weeks and are unbeaten in six matches, winning three.

Getafe have been winning more than losing on the road, so this could be tight, but I’m backing Elche for their strong form and the fact that Getafe have failed to score in three of their last five matches.

Athletic Bilbao vs Celta Vigo

Bilbao are one point off a European spot while Celta Vigo are clinging to their Europa League spot but only have a two-point lead.

Both sides have won two and lost three of their last five matches, but Celta’s two wins have come in their last three matches so they have the better form and I’m backing them for the win.

Athletico Madrid vs Girona

Athletico have secured their Champions League spot while Girona are just one point above the drop zone. Athletico have won three of their last four matches, while Girona are winless in their last six matches, losing three, and they haven’t tasted victory on the road for eight matches.

Athletico haven’t been strong at home, losing four of their last six matches, but they should still be far too strong for Girona. The visitors have scored 11 times in their last 10 matches, going goalless just twice, and because they are in danger of relegation they should throw everything at Athletico and are bound to score a goal.
