Durban's Super Giants vs MI Cape Town Predictions

Durban’s Super Giants have a strong squad, but both of their star batters (Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen) have been struggling for runs. MI Cape Town will miss the brilliance of Rashid Khan through injury, but his replacement, West Indian Kieron Pollard, will add serious punch with both bat and ball.

MI Cape Town’s Rassie van der Dussen has scored 60, 133, 76* & 36 in his last 10 whiteball innings.
MI Cape Town’s Dewald Brevis has scored 47, 110 & 113 runs in his last 4 innings.
Durban's Super Giants’ Tony de Zorzi has scored 28, 119* & 81 in his last 3 whiteball innings.
Durban's Super Giants’ Heinrich Klaasen was 4th in last season’s SA20 runs list with 363 runs at 60.50 per innings.

Head-to-Head

Durban's Super Giants won both of their group matches against MI Cape Town last season.

Durban's Super Giants Form

The Super Giants avoided finishing last on the table in 2023 thanks to wins over MI Cape Town and the Pretoria Capitals in their last two completed matches.

Their last match saw the Super Giants destroy top-of-the-table Pretoria Capitals after posting 254/4 off their 20 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen hammering 104* off 44 balls.

The Capitals were rolled for 103 runs off 13.5 overs, Junior Dala (3/33) destroying the Capitals’ top order.

Durban's Super Giants Team News

Durban's Super Giants’ key players have not been in the runs and might take a game or two to start firing.

MI Cape Town Form

MI Cape Town ended last season with four losses on the trot, ensuring they ended bottom of the table,

Their last match of the 2023 season saw them lose to Joburg Super Kings by 76 runs. The Kings racked up 189/6 despite superb bowling from Sam Curran (2/26).

MI Cape Town collapsed from 48/1 to 113 all out, with Dewald Brevis top-scoring with 27.

MI Cape Town Team News

MI Cape Town should get off to a flier this season with their powerful bowling lineup and hard-hitting batters.

Verdict

Durban's Super Giants v MI Cape Town

I am backing MI Cape Town to win. I am also backing Rassie van der Dussen to top score for MI Cape Town.

Tony de Zorzi is a good bet to top score for the Durban's Super Giants.
