MI Cape Town vs Sunrisers Eastern Cape Predictions

Defending champs Sunrisers have yet to get a win on the board after a rained-out match and a 35-run loss to the Super Giants. MI Cape Town have passed 200 in both their innings this season but have just one win to show for it after a tough break with the DLS calculation against Durban’s Super Giants.

MI Cape Town’s Ryan Rickelton (185 runs) is top of the SA20 runs list.
MI Cape Town’s Rassie van der Dussen scored 104 in the win over Joburg Super Kings.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Tristan Stubbs scored 55 off 26 balls against the Super Giants.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Tom Abell scored 65 in the loss to the Super Giants.

Head-to-Head

Sunrisers won both their group matches against MI Cape Town last season, with the Sunrisers emerging as champions and MI Cape Town ending bottom of the table.

MI Cape Town Form

MI Cape Town bounced back from the unlucky DLS loss to Durban’s Super Giants to beat the Joburg Super Kings by a massive 98 runs.

MI Cape Town racked up 243/5 off their 20 overs, with Rassie van der Dussen (104) and Ryan Rickelton (98) adding 200 for the first wicket.

The Super Kings collapsed to 145 all out off 17.5 overs, Olly Stone picking up 2/18.

MI Cape Town Team News

MI Cape Town are in excellent form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape Form

The defending champs missed out on their first match due to rain, and took a beating in their second match.

The Super Giants smashed 225/3 off their 20 overs, Daniel Worrall (2/35) the pick of the bowlers.

Sunrisers lost two early wickets but were back on track through Tom Abell (65) and Tristan Stubbs (55) but couldn’t keep up with the asking rate and fell 35 runs short.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape Team News

Sunrisers will hope for a stronger bowling performance in their third match as they look for their first win.

Verdict

MI Cape Town v Sunrisers Eastern Cape

I am backing MI Cape Town to win. I am also backing Ryan Rickelton to top score for MI Cape Town.

Tristan Stubbs is a good bet to top score for Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

MI Cape Town win
